The Rum Rebellion

Today in School, I learn't about the Rum Rebellion. So I though that I would tell you about it.

In 1792 an American captain refused to land any of his food unless all of the rum he had was brought. Lots of the corps brought this rum and sold it to the convicts. This was a big problem because the convicts brought lots of rum, and then refused to work for the free settlers unless they paid them in rum. the governors including Governor Hunter and Governor King, tried to stamp out the rum trade, but were over thrown by John Macarthur. When Bligh became Governor, he went to further steps to stop the rum trade, but Macarthur didn’t do anything that Bligh said. Then Bligh had Macarthur arrested, but Lieutenant Johnston bailed him, then Johnston stormed Bligh house and had him sent back to England, but John Macarthur was also sent to England. The corps was then replaced, and Macquarie was made Governor, though after 10 years he was also over thrown by Macarthur and some wealthy land owners.

Granny Smith

As most of you people living in the Ryde shire would know, the Granny Smith has just come and been. Though do you know what the story of the granny smith is?

Why don't I tell you!

Mrs Smith was an old lady who was making apple pie one day

She found that a couple of her apples were bad and chucked them down the back of her yard.

After some time she found that a tree was growing, so she looked after it, eventually it bear fruit, the fruit it bore was a green apple apple.

Granny Smith, as she was called said that it was just like god, the things we though away, he makes them into something new.

The apple was later named after Granny Smith, and that's why the people in Eastwood and surrounding towns celebrate the granny smith!

Lunar Eclipse

If you were watching the Lunar Eclipse tonight, you would of seen some amazing things.

A Lunar Eclipse only occurs when the Sun, Earth and moon are in line with each other. The Earth blocks the sunlight from the sun, and the earths shadow goes onto the moon. The light from the shadow is red light, which makes the moon look red
A lunar eclipse will only occur every 2-4 years. Here are some photos.

What Planet Should You Rule?

You Should Rule Mars

Mars is a planet that shines brightly and loops wildly around the solar system.

You are perfect to rule Mars, because you are both energetic and independent.
Like Mars, you seems attractive and bright to others - but you're difficult to pin down.

You are a great thinker, but you only think in the present and ignore the future.
Full of enthusiasm and inspiration, you are into your own thing.

What Kind of Pet Would You Be?

You Would Be a Pet Cat

Independent and aloof, you don't like to be dependent on anyone.
And as for other people, you can take them or leave them. You often don't care.
You live your life by your own rules. And you have deep motivations that no one truly understands.

Why you would make a great pet: You're not needy or greedy... unlike other four legged friends.

Why you would make a bad pet: You're not exactly running down to greet people at the door

What you would love about being a cat: Agility and freedom

What you would hate about being a cat: Being treated like a dog by clueless humans

And the colour of my brain is????

Your Brain is Orange

Of all the brain types, yours is the quickest.
You are usually thinking a mile a minute, and you could be thinking about anything at all.
Your thoughts are often scattered and random - but they're also a lot of fun!

You tend to spend a lot of time thinking about esoteric subjects, the meaning of life, and pop culture.

Waiting

Only 25 working days till we get our passprots. Or at least that's what they say. And dad's visa will cost as much as the 6 UK passprots. But we are still going, dad and I might get to watch the NRL final if we are lucky! GO PARRA!

Johnny and I

Today I met the Prime Minister! I will tell you the whole story.

At 2 pm I went to Epping RSL club for the Victory in the Pacific day.

I got there and guess who walked in?
John Howard!

I had to do a bible reading and I was nervous as it was, but then Mr Howard came in and my heart was beating fast!

So I got up and did the bible reading, but when I looked up and saw John Howard, I stumbled.

Then when we had laid the reefs, John Howard needed to leave and so as he walked by I shook his hand and got a photo with him.

Here are some of the photos......

The Aquarium and the Sydney Wildlife World.

Last Thursday (19th of July) My cousins and I went to the aquarium.

I been to the aquarium 4 times now!

We had an awesome time.

We went and saw some penguins, fish, (Durr...) seals, sharks, stingrays, eels, turtles, and more.

I even got to pat a Port Jackson shark.

The seals put on a show for us, and even came up to the glass wall for a close up view.

We got to see Nemo, Marlin, Dory and the gang.

After the Aquarium we went to the Sydney wildlife world.

I have never been there before, so it was a new experience for me.

First we got to see some butterflies in a enclosed area. Then we saw some spiders, bugs, stick insects, and the worlds biggest cockroach!

Then we went into the reptiles area, we saw snakes, snakes, and some more snakes. We got to see the worlds two most dangerous snakes.

We also got to see some lizards, like a two headed lizard, Frilled Neck Lizard, Blue tongue Lizard, The Thorny Devil, Bearded Dragon and more.

Then we saw some birds, nocturnal animals, Semi- Arid Grasslands and Koalas.

We then went and learnt some stuff about aboriginals, like what boomerangs were for, tools they used, then we heard a story about a hitchhiker on the didgeridoo. We also heard are names on the didgeridoo, it was pretty funny.

Then we went up into the butterfly habitat. One butterfly kept landing on everyone but me, until I put on my cousins multi-colour jumper, then landed on my shoulder.

That day was a very fun day, and i can't wait to go again!

Judges 7:7 Camp

In the first week of the school holidays I attended the Children's Prayer Network Judges 7:7 Camp at Meroo.

I was part of a team from my church; The Church of the Good Shepherd that included, Pastor Ann Hornshaw, Jessica Bird, Josh Thorley, Lucie D'Silva and myself.

Daphne Kirk was the main speaker. The other speakers included, Brian Pickering, Di McRae, Bev Tuddenham, Sister Elpida and Donny McGreggor.

Daphne's message to us was about being prepared for the end times. She spoke a lot about the signs in the bible to do with end times. God really wants us to be ready for it.

She also did team building, there were 14 teams/groups and everyday we did an activity to try and build up our team. My team's leader was Pastor Ann.

Daphne also spoke about the enemy stealing the next generation, through abortion, war, youth suicide, excessive computer/video game useage, drugs, and music that influences people's lives for the worst.

I really enjoyed Sister Elpida's friend who spoke. It showed me how Jesus can change people's lives from the worst to the best.

All the speakers had a good message and I really enjoyed all of them.

The Judge's 7:7 camp is one of the best things I have ever been too and I will never forget it.
